First, I will warn you ... I can't post 6 weeks worth of pictures and keep my sanity, so as I downloaded the last 6 weeks of pictures and laughed and cried as I went through them, I picked a few of my favorites.
Let's get started...
So Halloween came and went and we received word that the loan we applied for regarding the new house fell through. After scrambling to find a new lender who worked nothing short of a miracle to close our loan in under 30 days, we finally closed on our new house the day before Thanksgiving. God Bless my family for helping us move over Thanksgiving so we could be out of the old house in time for the buyers to take pre-possession on December 1st. A great big Thank You too to all of our friends who helped us move and organize and unpack!!
In the midst of all this craziness, we had to put our beloved Mocha dog to sleep. She had a lot happen in a short amount of time and it turned out that she had lymphoma - a very agressive form - and the vet gave her only a few weeks at best. Such a hard decision and we miss her terribly, but it was the best thing for everyone. When we informed the breeder we purchased her from about the cancer, she offered us a replacement, as Mocha was only 3 years old. While no doggie can replace her, we may take her up on her offer in a few years when the kids are bigger.
Then came Christmas ... a week early ... since Eric had to work Christmas day. We took Abby and Suzie to the boarding place around the corner and they had a blast on their vacation playing with all the other doggies in the snow while we traveled to Crown Point to spend some time with our families.
Addisyn and Hunter had tons of fun playing with their cousins. Aunt Julie and cousin Charles were at the Gettler's and we even got to play with cousin Ella at the Gettler Family Christmas Party. Then they got to meet their new cousin Braden and had some fun playing with Spencer and Danielle at the Dixon house. Our trip to Crown Point came and went way too fast and we were back home before we knew it!
This past week, we've spent unpacking and finding spots for all of our stuff in our new home. This is quite the challenge as Addisyn likes to help mommy and it seems like every time mommy gets one thing put away, she has to go back and pick up 4 more things that baby drags out. I wouldn't trade it for the world though!!
Hopefully with a little luck, Addisyn's teeth will finally all pop through and Hunter's head cold will go away and we'll have a happy household again!
Okay, enough rambling on and on. Here are a few of my favorites from the past month...
"Do" ... this is what Addisyn says when she wants to "do" something ... typically accompanied by a shake of the head and a point with the index finger! :) |
I forgot I took these back in November when it was still warm outside at the old house. I love this closeup of Addisyn playing in the leaves in the front yard. |
Hunter and cousin Spencer. This picture totally captures the fun loving spirit of our little boy. Hunter is so sweet and his smile just melts my heart!! |

So sweet! This little guy is going to grow up with quite the hairdo! |
Addisyn's first snowfall. Daddy was teaching her how to eat the snow! LOL! |
My Babies after opening Christmas presents. Santa brought us books and a puzzle and a snow sled! |

Okay folks, I think I'm pushing my luck...Addisyn is asleep but I hear Hunter stirring ... I'm gonna post this and go get him up before he wakes up the whole household. Everyone have a safe and Happy New Year!
